How to face the upcoming challenges with the current IT team
For the airport IT department there were three key themes:
- How to be ready for the planned growth, after the COVID pandemic drop in flights
- How to ensure continuity for service delivery with the dedicated but small team, also given growth
- How to deal with the increasing risk of Cyber Security issues
And given this these themes there were some contextual requirements:
- Involve the current IT team in the design
- Align with the holding company Royal Schiphol Group
Our answer
First Anderson MacGyver delivered a sourcing strategy. This strategy took the RTHA business perspective as its starting point. Using in in-depth knowledge of airport operations several scenarios were defined. The future IT sourcing strategy was decided with the business leadership
Partners were selected based on alignment with the sourcing strategy and a cultural fit with RTHA
Two parties were contracted for IT services such as desktop provisioning, LAN, cyber security and back-end run and change. This also led to a major transition from current operations to market standards
Training of the IT team is provided by Anderson MacGyver to support the transition from ‘do-it-yourself’ to a true IT sourcing management team

RTHA was able to transition to a new situation with the new partners and be ready to support future growth smoothly
